at 5am, out of bed 5:30
Got mails from the post box, kind of far to go get my mail.
But was glad that I did as I got a post card from Sara B, who sent it from Italy. So sweet and thought full of her. Had circumstances been better I would probably have dated her. But she is sweet and nice, would not want to break her heart at any cost. And its not fair as my heart is still with Eva. Thou Eva did say many times that no one will replace me and all those very many dialouges, I am now not sure, if she just said it at that moment. And like all her many boyfriends, I am just another who gets replaced after a month. Seems like she is having something going on there with Ritish Jain.
In the pics it looks like he is chasing her. And his expressions tells me he is just pursing her as just another part time entertainment. Well i did warn her once at Ossoyos about short term and long terms. Can't be there for her everytime. And now that she does not want any communication, only her own good deeds or karma will help her for becoming another wandering superficial person, who is more like the pot smoking gypsies visiting India for free sex and drugs.
did a bit of packing of my documents that I would need during the transit between . Not taking anything else. maybe get a couple of suitcases back.
Have to see how this will all turn out.
Also thanks to Sara B for the lovely Card from Italy and making me smile today.. :))) Gratzi bella bambina ! :)

@ work by 8am went to the shuttle pick up @ 7:30am
9:30 to 12 load testing
9:30 was at the war room ready for the attack on the load testing for Release 18 (R18). couple of cuties there. hmmm. one a blond and very sweet. the other looked like a diva.
Well after about 1 hr the testing was over with a few glitches, I would call it kind of organized chaos.
There turned out to be a bug there, that came up when the agents were replying to emails. and when the call came in did not allow the screen pop only allowed it in when the email was wrapped up.
The Avaya guy, don't know his name, kind of had an Aussie ascent.
was trying to figure out the probs at the avaya end. I on my end did not even know that the agents answered the emails.
Anyways got out of the center by 12:30 and was trying to complete the tasks at hand, calling up station sq for the chek to made out too. Then Fry wagonr for any more documentations needed, then filling up the ctsh time sheet,
and was told that the merck time sheets need to filled up too.
So checked for remote log in access, which was not there in my system. Called up help desk, Edgar in mexico city (merck mexico employee) answers the call and he remotes into my system. Takes about 1 hr before he finishes installing and then me cross-verifying.... not sure if it will work outside, can only test it latter.
Almost 2 now. need to get to the airport. ITs about 2 hrs of travelling.
Then started the race to finish the SAP CATS course. after finishing we needed 80% to qualify,, ahhh after a few attempts got 83% and sent msg to ajit.
2:10 go upto the war room and have a talk with the Avaya guy, who now seems to have something up with a partial swift of responsibility on to my plate. And when I proposed another possible resolution, he kind of tried to shoot it down with saying that it could interfere with secondary calls coming in, which I doubt is a possibility. as these people do not have the secondary call comming in or secondary ph number set up.
Anyways tell him that I am heading home and will try to work on that remotely.
2:25 rush to catch the shuttle. takes about 30 mins to reach home. The another rush to put in the check for next months rent. Then rush home pack the docs needed and have rice with yogurt and barely make it to the penbrook station.
Take transfer at market st in downtown philly to the airport train.
@ terminal D get the boarding pass and there is a huge line up for getting thru security. phew, make it past security with out an hasseles, unlike the Vancouver airport where all the security people seem to have something against Indian looking 5:45 get into the Terminal D and wait for the flight. feeling hungry, saw a voice msg from narayan reddy. Yet to get the money out for his visa processing.
call him back and leave a voice msg.
Kannan calls me up to see if I made it to the airport. that was very nice of him. There are few nice people in the world.
Got call back from narayan and scolding me for not having taken the money he offered. :(
Got into the Air jazz plane, for the first time in my life I had a very pretty gal sitting besides me wearing mini skirts. Cute smile and looked like a bookish gal. great sexy legs, must be well maintained. still like evas legs over hers. But this gal I am sure had a head shower every day, cause her hairs looked wel maintained too. Then on top of all that saw the ring on her ring finger. awww the good ones are always taken.
For the connecting flight it was a race. It was at 10:45 and for some reason after I landed there I thought it was already 10:15, when it was only 9:15. Raced thru customs, got stopped for not fully filling it up, twice... kind of did not see the boxes that needed to be filled.
then the run to the terminal. Getting past the security check again. But this time got into the nexus pass lane and was granted faster access. More time cause I was traveling with two lap tops.
Go have a beer and slowly de-stress now that I am out of US soil.
Then was the 1st to board the flight... long haul. And again there is a pretty chinese gal from Toronto besides me, who turns out to be a long distance runner and is going for meeting her cousins and particepate in the mini-marathon about 22 kms....wow.
Then another surprise, she dances salsa.. mama mio.
Get to watch TV onboard and thanks to the hands free by Apple's iphone, I get to hear the dialogues too, unlike Cathay, not many give out head sets for free.

After going to sleep early yesterday, it felt nice to wake up at 5am and be at work by 7:50. Had taken the 7:30 shuttle.
Felt nice reading Evas quote for the day. ""The body is your tool, the mind is your identity, the soul is you and the whole world within. All three are essential and all three need to be nurtured every day.""
So true, we often get focused on improving one area we tend to forget the other. And then the on going temptations of the modern world. Mostly TV, but again the amount of information one gains is also tremendus, which if not exposed to would lead to ignorance..... again a catch 22 scenario.
How does one bring about a balance here? that is an on going scenario of self improvement in every ones life...
Afternoon took the shuttle to the bank closer to my house and got my checkbook, which was forwarded from the branch I opened the account at on Sunday.
Then went to the PC center for getting the Hard disk they had taken for imaging. They said that they have it ready and so went there again with my work lap top. Only to have the lady say that my hard disk is showing 100% free, that means all the data is lost.
Bummer.... so had to come back and start with the fresh installation of softwares....
Not sure why I am kind of facing so many obstructions. now not really keen on moving to India either. Got to see what in store,,,,, Even the plan to travel in India with Eva has wiped out now that she seems to be in love with another guy. Wonder what happend to Amit. Did he also turn her down like Louis? She seemed pretty pissed at him. And on with Ritish Jain. Good for her to be able to change guys so frequently. well how she does it only she knows. Atleast I cannot think of going for another for a long time to come.
Guess she is an expert now at switching from one guy to another. All the signs were already there. Just that I let my self be fooled into believing that there is something special there and that she was different from the other gals. And with parents from both sides involved, I let myself into it deeper. IT had to happen to teach me something.
Really interested to see how and where her life will take her and where mine will take.. But deep inside I really wish her the best and hope she finds true love and happiness in her life all along and what ever she chooses .... Thou feel and want it to have happened between us. But I guess there is too much of personalty clash on my end to tolerate the feelings of Jealousy that I would feel when I see my women kiss some other guy on the lips.
Don't think that is something I could live with.,, the constant feelings of someone hitting me in the stomach every time she kisses some guy on the lips..... naww too much for me to handle.
Hopefully she finds some guy who meets her specification.
And hopefully its someone she really loves and not just some guy she chooses based on that guy meeting some qualifying parameters.
Hope she realises that love is something deeper than just meeting the qualifying standards and requirements.... its much deeper and from the bottom of the heart.
Guess I was lucky in a way to know that I was capable and I am capable of loving someone very deeply and letting myself be open to hurt and let myself be hurt repeatedly.... all in the name of love.

But then the questions,
why did we end up together if we were not ment to be ?
why did we have to go thru the pain of expectations and hope crashing down?
oh why why why?
if it was not ment to be, why did circumstance bring us together in such a magical way.
It was like everything was falling into place at the right moment and leading us to be together. Thou many times I just wanted to pull back and was hurt on the way cause of her thought less actions or was it her own little girl naivety. Yet everytime I was pulling back, got sucked into it with greater force.
Ahhhhh why is life so confusing.

Got up around 5 and got to see Evas blog.
Gald to know that she is finding love. But not sure if its valid. As again it seems to be some kind of pattern she is following. Getting into spiritual and philosophical discussions and then the poor guy, like me ends up falling in love with her. When she very well knows that its not going to last long.
Looks like Amit was strong enough not to fall for her charms. Good for him.
I am not sure if she is just doing this by instinct of by calculation or a bit of both. I am sure when compared to men, she like most women, she has already calculated a 5 to 6 steps ahead. Men only thing about 2 stem in a relationship, most of their though only leading to sex.
I was hoping that I was wrong about the worst case scenario about her, the best case was that she was really in love and would settle down to a happy married, sincere Indian life.
Or did I escape her clutches too and did not end up marrying her and then realizing how bad the real situation is.
Not sure if that guy Rishit jain is just a guy who seems to be playing around with visiting foreign gals. Cause I saw he had something going on with another on his FB pics.
Well either way, I am still reminded what a experienced lady told me. She needs to find herself. She does not know that and does not realise that, will be thinking that she knows what she is doing. But no matter what I do or others do, she has to find herself in her own way. As with her attitude of been so dogmatic and head strong and not been open to the suggestions and what others say. The only solution (if she needs to end up living a normal life of peace and family) is for her to hopefully find herself soon.
Hopefully not many more hearts are broken.
Just hope that she is not someone who is just into going around the world breaking hearts of guys who fall deeply in love with her.
I am intrigued by the life and behavior of this lady. Curiosity on how life and Karama really works is something I am interested in seeing.
Kind of depressing day, nothing much to do. Gloomy outside too with the rains.
Try calling up kati of fry wagnor around 12 and she says will call me or will send me the docs latter. Again called her around 4 and she says not able to find the docs and will send it as soon as she finds it.
So I call up Jim of the williamson moving and get Lindas number, she is kind enough to give me the details and more than willing to take care of everything related to documentation.
cheers just need to send her passport details and the i-94 copy.
have chat with Ajit regarding the move to India. Kind of seems to be in a wishy washy situation. Now with the way things are going and have happened between E and me. Don't seem to be motivated for the transfer. Was looking forward to the kerala tour during july aug. But life seems to have a mind of its own. Atleast now I am getting paid $$$$ with out much effort.
Return by the shuttle bus. No situation to walk in the rain.
Get home and have a conv with Anil who briefs me the situation of a married life. With all the additional responsibilities and no scope of saying, I have had enough and walk away.
Well thats the scary side of a married life.
Then get chatting with sweet innocent Delma. who is struggling with finding a job in Van. Such a beautiful place, yet so much of under employment.

Lazy sunday day of Mourning

woke up late, called up home talked with parents. And then Anil to wish H-Bday.
Got to know that Chandrika aechi passed away in a very tragic way. She was my mom's, dad's younger brother's, wife.
my Grandfathers sister in law.
She was a very wonderful women, always with a heart warming smile. Looked so young for her age. Was widowed at a very young age too.
People from west will be wondering how come you keep in touch with a relation thats so far off. Well thats how family in India is defined. Its not the nuclear, self-centered group of 3 to 4 people. People who do not care for each other after a certain time in life. people who seem to get so caught up and busy with their own work, party or celebrations or holiday mood and not bother about the others in the family or make an effort to reach out.
Anyways around 12 go to the office of the apt and meet Cathy to tell her about the carpet in the bed room having hairs of some pet. And also clarify about the free rent month of May.
its raining slightly outside, feels like vancouver a bit.
Need to go out for a walk...
Went for a 2 hr long walk thru the empty streets of downtown Lansdale. It felt like a ghost town. But I had my merengue, cumbia and salsa songs to keep me company. And a few music from Evas collection.
The only person I met was a cop, who greeted me. Well these are the few pleasures of a small place.
Walked around thinking and contemplating the happenings of the past few months of my life, rather the last one year. How things fell into place and circumstances led from one thing to another. How deeply I fell in love. To the extend of wanting to move to another country and looking for job there.
Thou now I only want good for her, the feeling of betrayal and been betrayed is all I am able to associate her to.
The feelings do come back in waves, but just taking the attitude of forgiveness and not holding any resentment is helping me over come the unhappiness and helping me smile with my heart. The continuous process is of trying to sustain it. Might take sometime.
Did she and does she do this without even realizing in what I perceive to be her growing up with low parental supervision and guidance?
No I idea, how someone can be so sweet and nice one moment and then suddenly turn out to be this angry evil monster. Is this what many people in the past say, women,,, no ones understood them ever.
Even women do not understand why they do certain things. Atleast some are honest to admit it.
got home and cooked rice. But did not feel like eating it. Was feeling tired and ended up going to sleep in the sleeping bag.
woke up around 1 and put the cooked rice into the fridge.

Lots to cover today

Woke up at 5 as usual but got up around 6:30 and checked the mails.
then saw Es blog . saw about their concern about tickets, and about anonymous call for alcohol.
So sent her skype txt msg about Foreigner quota in Railways.,,,, did not look like she appreciated that much. Well nothing new, same as before, some people think like that. And I need to stop giving out free help and control myself. Why do I concern myself with the problems of others, if they choose to go on a certain path, its the decision that they made. And as much as I face the consequences of my decisions, they should too.
Why should I still feel concerned about the life and the holes other people are digging themselves into. Especially since they donèt seem to care about me!!.. why am I been the caring fool who ends up getting insulted for caring about people.
Why do I forget the past.... is it cause I tend to forgive and forget the past easily and move on like a child,, or better word foolish child and behave like nothing bad happened in the past and move ahead happily!?
But again its giving me more peaceful time and happy state of mind, .. as I summarized a few days ago
Anyways, was more concerned about the anonymous call for alcohol. Not sure if she realises this, but there are chances that it could be en-trapment by some official trying to get a promotion or bonous or wanting to get paid or what ever..
Hopefully she has not forgotten the stories of her parents during communistic era. And will be careful and cautious.
10 mins in the hands of the Indian police, her friends,, mihir or who ever,, will not only blame her for the alcohol, and will be very willing to say she is even planning on attacking the indian leaders and that she is taliban and pakistan ISI and came here on secret mission to attack .....
good god, the things I have seen, growing up and living in the Government quarters, just besides the Police station in Hyderabad. The late night cries from the torture, some people went thru at the hands of the police (well most were hardened criminals) ..... Not to forget all the planning secession that dad as the anti-curruption Government official person and his colleagues had trying to catch currupt officials.
Well long day ahead, off to Phily downtown on the train.. cheers and lets see what is store there. Just taking the iPhone for pics,, don't have to take the huge camera anymore.. but don't get good pics,, but hey, thats a choice we need to make.

Just wondering about the suggestion form Ajit about making a trip to India during July Aug for setting up the offshore testing team for CTI in india..... lets see what I can come up with?
Nothing like a paid trip to Bangalore or Calcutta... cheers :))) think of the good times, and possible good things ahead,, dreams and wonderful dreams are all that I have that gives me the positive state of mind..... hope generated from the positive dreams. If one crumbles, another is always there ready to send me into a state of happiness.. After all what is happiness , A STATE OF MIND.
The means of achieving it might be different for different people. Mine I think is the best and the cheapest,, I can just use my powerful dream machine,, ,,,:)) my Beautiful MIND...cheers to another beautiful day of action.
Around 11 check for the ticket rates to Downtown philly. The station besides my apt does not have a ticket office. And buying ticket on the train costs about 2 dollars more. So decided to walk to the next station about 2 miles. Came across a duck family , mom, dad and few baby ducks. The parents seem too protective, ready to attack.
Walked all the way thru the scenic route. was reminded of Zion canyon.
Reached North wales station and found out that the ticket office was closed. On the train I ask for a Independence pass, unlimited travel for the day. $10, after about 1 hr of travel, reach 30th Market st and form there transfer to R1 line towards airport. 30 mins.
Only latter did I realise that each terminal has its own station. A,B,C, D, E.
So I am all set for my train travel to the Airport on Wednesday evening. did not want be lost when travelling with luggage.
Then return back to home about 5 pm, change a bit and was back at the Pennbrook station by my house for the 5:52pm train to down town, This time I was going there for sight seeing.
Get off at Market street, near to the 11th street and the Amtrak Central station. Huge !. walk eastwards on market street. getting to see lot of the heritage buildings and museums about the Independence of American history. Did not stop to get in, maybe have to make another trip early morning another day.
Reach Penns landing, wow what a view. breath taking in its own right. with the huge suspension bridge and the battle ship on the other end. Historic site on the Delaware River.
Latter towards 8pm go and have a chicken burger at the Burger king, did not look that good in terms of cleanliness, the Mc Donalds was too crowded and had a huge line up.
9pm reach back to Brasils with hope of getting a bit of salsa, the last train back to Pennbrook was at 11:20 that means I have to be out by 10:45pm.... so just go and join up for the beginner classes, $10 entry. But they donèt seem start till 9:45pm,,,,
Ended up having a Carona, a beer after a very long time. :)
well things start rolling and get to meet a few people who come there in-frequently, but it was a pleasant crowd, the girls seem to enjoy dancing with me. Just that they are not the frequent dancers was a put off as they could not tell me where else people go to dance here.
So after a few dances and a clumsy bachata with a Venenzula girl, Karla, who danced in a very different style, rather felt like she was trying to act that she was the master just because she is latin, like most latin people who want to show off, but do not really know to dance. Every time I tried to lead her into something different she froze up and lost the beat. Well so much for making claims of ones own great culture to foreigners :)... yea right!
Got off the club around 10:50 and it was a rush to reach the station. managed to reach by 11:15,,,, got on the train by 11:25 and home by 12:30am....
Woke up at 5 as usual but got up around 6:30 and checked the mails.
then saw Es blog . saw about their concern about tickets, and about anonymous call for alcohol.
So sent her skype txt msg about Foreigner quota in Railways.,,,, did not look like she appreciated that much. Well nothing new, same as before, some people think like that. And I need to stop giving out free help and control myself. Why do I concern myself with the problems of others, if they choose to go on a certain path, its the decision that they made. And as much as I face the consequences of my decisions, they should too.
Why should I still feel concerned about the life and the holes other people are digging themselves into. Especially since they donèt seem to care about me!!.. why am I been the caring fool who ends up getting insulted for caring about people.
Why do I forget the past.... is it cause I tend to forgive and forget the past easily and move on like a child,, or better word foolish child and behave like nothing bad happened in the past and move ahead happily!?
But again its giving me more peaceful time and happy state of mind, .. as I summarized a few days ago
A clear conscious , forgiving and not holding any grudges helps me move ahead with a sense of happiness and innocence of a child. ..... it feels liberating and sweet to be able to smile with my heart.
Well I think like a child with its innocence, even i will just let the bad moment pass. And then bounce back with happiness and spread the happiness and joy around. As its all these moments of happiness that counts more than the few pot holes.....or puddles.Anyways, was more concerned about the anonymous call for alcohol. Not sure if she realises this, but there are chances that it could be en-trapment by some official trying to get a promotion or bonous or wanting to get paid or what ever..
Hopefully she has not forgotten the stories of her parents during communistic era. And will be careful and cautious.
10 mins in the hands of the Indian police, her friends,, mihir or who ever,, will not only blame her for the alcohol, and will be very willing to say she is even planning on attacking the indian leaders and that she is taliban and pakistan ISI and came here on secret mission to attack .....
good god, the things I have seen, growing up and living in the Government quarters, just besides the Police station in Hyderabad. The late night cries from the torture, some people went thru at the hands of the police (well most were hardened criminals) ..... Not to forget all the planning secession that dad as the anti-curruption Government official person and his colleagues had trying to catch currupt officials.

Nothing like a paid trip to Bangalore or Calcutta... cheers :))) think of the good times, and possible good things ahead,, dreams and wonderful dreams are all that I have that gives me the positive state of mind..... hope generated from the positive dreams. If one crumbles, another is always there ready to send me into a state of happiness.. After all what is happiness , A STATE OF MIND.
The means of achieving it might be different for different people. Mine I think is the best and the cheapest,, I can just use my powerful dream machine,, ,,,:)) my Beautiful MIND...cheers to another beautiful day of action.
Around 11 check for the ticket rates to Downtown philly. The station besides my apt does not have a ticket office. And buying ticket on the train costs about 2 dollars more. So decided to walk to the next station about 2 miles. Came across a duck family , mom, dad and few baby ducks. The parents seem too protective, ready to attack.
Walked all the way thru the scenic route. was reminded of Zion canyon.
Reached North wales station and found out that the ticket office was closed. On the train I ask for a Independence pass, unlimited travel for the day. $10, after about 1 hr of travel, reach 30th Market st and form there transfer to R1 line towards airport. 30 mins.
Only latter did I realise that each terminal has its own station. A,B,C, D, E.
So I am all set for my train travel to the Airport on Wednesday evening. did not want be lost when travelling with luggage.
Then return back to home about 5 pm, change a bit and was back at the Pennbrook station by my house for the 5:52pm train to down town, This time I was going there for sight seeing.
Get off at Market street, near to the 11th street and the Amtrak Central station. Huge !. walk eastwards on market street. getting to see lot of the heritage buildings and museums about the Independence of American history. Did not stop to get in, maybe have to make another trip early morning another day.
Reach Penns landing, wow what a view. breath taking in its own right. with the huge suspension bridge and the battle ship on the other end. Historic site on the Delaware River.
Latter towards 8pm go and have a chicken burger at the Burger king, did not look that good in terms of cleanliness, the Mc Donalds was too crowded and had a huge line up.
9pm reach back to Brasils with hope of getting a bit of salsa, the last train back to Pennbrook was at 11:20 that means I have to be out by 10:45pm.... so just go and join up for the beginner classes, $10 entry. But they donèt seem start till 9:45pm,,,,
Ended up having a Carona, a beer after a very long time. :)
well things start rolling and get to meet a few people who come there in-frequently, but it was a pleasant crowd, the girls seem to enjoy dancing with me. Just that they are not the frequent dancers was a put off as they could not tell me where else people go to dance here.

Aching body

Woke up with an aching body,,,, nice way, results of working out two times a day. Hmmm this thing with out TV is turning out to be good for my health. :)
Was reading someones profile and came across this :
I need trust, honesty and someone who will be loyal to me and get through thick and thin with, and be by my side through the good and bad. -- from anothers profile
When someone is not loyal how can you trust them to be by your side thru thick and thin?
So Loyalty is the crux, is it something we are born with, or is it something we develop growing? or is it an attitude we cultivate????? point to ponder!!
Around noon went walking to church and sumnytown pike and deposited 1st salary check (so filled with controversy, yet to get full amount). Then went to reset the pin on the new debit card with the Customer rep. After a series of questions and answers to prove that I am indeed the person that who the card belongs, got down to changing the pin. After about 4 attempts and manager coming by, the lady realised that my card is inactive. So ended up creating a new card for me and then it started working...
Got back to work to see the market,, AMZN was tanking. good short, now to cover.
Went to the war room to help set up the Test 5 (T5) environment for the call center agents to test.
CAlled up katie of Fry wagnor regarding the documents for the move.
left a msg. But got her latter around 4pm. Said will send me the docs by the end of close today.
Vikram coming tonite, might take him out to introduce to salsa and before that game of cricket with the TEAM.. yeaahhh

Day of Viruses

Almost end of month. woke up @ 6 not feeling that charged. Hope that its not the beginning of some viral infection. Have been having stomach problems the past few days.
Anyways time to get cracking and go check out if the Virus that plauged the Computers at work are still there or have they resolved the issue ....
It seems that they found a work around, fixed the symptom, not the problem. So had to wait in line for about 2 hrs and get the patch fixed at the PC shop with in the company..... This is really the hugest company I got to work in.
And during the fix they discovered that my Laptop had some other diseases... so they gave me a interim lap top upto the time they could re-image mine..... ahhh its just 2 weeks old, I would rather start installing all the software that I had loaded the past two weeks than wait for a few days for it.
So goes the rest of the day with out much happening. Met up krishna my SDM college mate (two years my junior) over coffee at the cafeteria and talked about old times in the college, the strike, I started so that I could go see the girl I was in love with and how he and many others got arrested due to that..... One of my many experiences with the crowd and real affects of politics.
Evening slowly walk back with Suvendu and Raj. they just have 10 min of walking with one lap top, I have two laptops and 30 mins of walking. but enjoyed the greenery and scenery ....
Got home and went to the gym for the 1st time in the Apt complex and did run on the thread mill. ahhh not the same as running on real ground.
then did some cycling with mountain adjustment/selection... and some bit of dumble weights.
Was sweating like crazy by then,,,, then went around the apartment complex for a walk... saw lots of young couples walking around too. aww so much of romance, wish I was with someone special like that. And the best part most of the couples were all young indians, maybe newly married.... Romancing openly in the freedom of romancing of the west. Something most of them would not attempt way back in India or in front of their other family. :)
Came back home, read for a few and then got cooking my special Chicken curry,,,, turned out yummyyyyy.... ahhh I love what I cook.
maybe after this I got to try the Salmon curry....

Vikram move to Allentown / SDM surprise

up at 5:20am and did some light work out. Vikram wakes up @6 and gets ready by 7 to take off to alen town and his new house.
He drops me off at work around 7:20am. feels nice to be at work,,,, not many of the Indians around, but most of the Merck employees seem to be in by 7am... I guess they take off early by 3pm and go about their private life the rest of the evening.
Sun rise is around 5am and sets around 8pm... lots of daylight time... got to take advantage of summer time and improve my physical self.
Surprise to see Sara on FB chat from Italy.. sweet she is also coming to Van around May 1st ,, hopefully will get to dance with her a lot. Not sure if I will be able to keep up with the stamina of someone who runs 15 kms easily..... well maybe I can start working on my run. tonite to the community gym in my apt building. saw a few good looking chicks there, that should be good motivation. And maybe get them together and form a salsa club. :)
Problem at work, as the computer was not able to connect to the network. Was not able to do anything much. There seems to be some kind of virus going on. Seems to have impacted a lot of peoples computer.
I was in the process of getting on the online learning and compiling the book "PeopleSmart". The comp got into issues before I could get to the last two chapters.
Around 2 got a missed call and msg from Williams moving , Jim Feroese . Called him back and talked to him briefly. And then sent him the list of Items to move, about 18 items.
Surprise Birthday party for Bachu Ekalavaya.... his wife sent a surprise Birthday cake to the office thru another colleague.. Sweet,, who said Indian women don't know to please their men and make them feel special ,,, like kings..... now I am really feeling envious of all these guys here, who seem to be happily married to women who are willing to put up with all the constant re-location that most indians working in IT in US have to go thru.
Well it takes a special kind of attitude, that only Indian women are raised with to go along and make Family the core and center of their lives.
Started reading the e-book from the management training online on People smart, great so far and the topics covered....
4pm, on a whim go along with kris and raj to a KT secssion (knowledge Transfer). There this guy who was leaving "Krishna Venugopal" turned out to be someone who recognized me from the College days, he was my junior by 2 years. WE got talking about all the girls, the fun times, and briefly about our life and other college mates. Thou I was and am not able to remember him, he spent a lot time with my other closest friends and room mates. It was a tight circle of college big shots (guys who always caused trouble, strikes, teased girls, fights.....).
That was a surprising thing, I am meeting someone from SDM college of Engg and Tech after about 10 years. My first in the US/Canada.
He seems to have had it going really good, has two houses in New Jersey. :)

not everyone will come into your life ready-made, but there’s a difference between dusting off a diamond and fighting a battle you’re never going to win.
How and when do you decided that its dusting off and polishing the diamond or fighting a battle. Even the diamond would need lots of work before been able to command its right worth. Guess it comes down to the person who has the diamond in their hand and their patience to fight the uphill battle (as in all relationships) and their ability to convert the raw stone into its true potential.
Wished Bob Ripple a Happy BirthDay another the American casualties cause of the jobs going off to Indians. He is been thru a lot sticking by his wife thru thick and thin. Staying by her side to take care of her illiness, when he could have just said, too much work, I can't handle this anymore, I can get a better deal with another women,,,,etc WEll people make choices and that reveals their strength of character. And Bob has my earned my respect for that.
Just got back after taking Vikram to the Clinic for the drug test before his work starts Tomorrow.
Cheers.... just have to focus on the movers and coordinating with them for now and I am all set to go to Van and for a long bye bye...

Long day ahead

Went to sleep late, with an over loaded stomach with all the goodies from Narayans house. And a few from temple. Was not able to sleep.
Anyways woke up around 5am but got out around 6, did some light work out and could feel the difference in my tone around the chest . Getting better at push ups..
Have to return the rental car, before that deposit the check and buy more bottle water and milk from costco . have to manage till my things get here from Vancouver.
7:20 heading off to work..
got cracking on the two days of mar that i was supposed to be an employee of Cognizant. sending out mails to the HR , amit , justin, joanna//
then around 11 head off to costco to get more water bottels, milk and cereals and tortilas.
get back home have lunch and then head off to drop off the car at enterprise.
On the ride back met an wonderful old lady "Ann" who had retired as a nurse. And since she was not able to live on her retirement had taken up part time work at enterprise. Such a sad state of affair, that the rest of the world does not get to see about americans. They end up working their whole life. no happy retirement for the majority. While the rest of the world are enjoying their senior years in glorious peace of their homes, taken care by their kids and family. The Americans are made to work and work more.
Get back to work and start the series of calls to get Katie of the moving company. who does not seem to be replying to my emails. Get her around 2 and ask her for firm dates. which she dodges and says she will get back to me tomorrow.
Tell her that I need to book the tickets to YVR based on her firm dates.
then latter not getting any call from the sub agents from yvr call her up again , get her after a few calls and ask her to give me their number so that i can initiate the call.
But she refuses to give saying corporate policy....grrr.
Evening walking out of the office, kannan and kris both offer to drive me home. But refuse and start walking with the load of the two lap tops. talk with Narayan who says he is heading to my house from NJ with Vikram..... Then get a call from AV, who is drunk on wine and is preaching to me to drink wine daily.... grrr
he goes to bed early as he did not get to sleep on his journey from sfo to atlanta.
around 11pm narayan and virkram make it to my place. The first thing they say is , this place is "posh".. whoo hooo...
Narayan leaves after seeing the house and vikram takes the main room.

1st Pay Check

wake up around 6:am and go to sleep again. get out of bed @ 6:30 and finish off with the bathing and washroom.@ narayans house. have break fast.
Then go to gym with Narayan around 8 and get back by 10. Do some cycling at the gym waiting for him.
then go to wal mart and buy shower curtains and knife set. As it seems to be cheaper here.
Narayans sister and family turn up there too, seeing her after about 11 years. Great family atmosphere with lots of kids playing.
Have a lavish lunch, Mutton curry, Chicken curry, veggie curries. Veggie biriyani, white rice and yogurt. All cooked in Pakka Andhra style, spicy and yummy by Narayans wife.
@3pm say bye to all of them and head back via temple again. :) Stay there for about another hr trying to meditate thru the loud wailing of kids. then again to the Temple cafetria and got 3 tamrind rice to go. got to test it.
Saw the ad for the guruvayoor temple( http://www.krishnatemple.org/) , maybe thats where all the malus go.. maybe next time I might head there and check out the malu girls...... they are the worlds best.
Get home around 6 set up the shower curtains and then return the costly knife set brought at lansdale.
Check my mail box for the first time and discover that I have got my pay check too. kool .
Also in the mail was my corportate Credit card. cheers.
Now to focus of completing the rest of the canadian taxes and booking my flight to YVR. have to get in as much dancing as possible too when there.

Now to focus of completing the rest of the canadian taxes and booking my flight to YVR. have to get in as much dancing as possible too when there.

Woke up to: ""Attitude and Life of wandering results in developing a personalty and mentality that is incapable of sticking to a Place or Committing to a Relationship. ... Does that explain why I am still single?""
Is that why my life thou seems great subject matter to talk about or as a great conversation material and invoking envy from others in a party or initial meeting, is still something to me that is missing that special someone-forever and family that most others seem to have?
Its great to experience and get exposed to lots of different exotic places and cultures, but in the end human mind is really seeking that peace and fulfillment, which only comes when one is calm and in stable. Just like Gautam Buddha, who had the world or riches and pleasure, but realised the moksha (liberalization) to Happinesss only by giving up all and everything.
To me it summerizes that no matter how far and wide you travel, no matter how exotic your experience is, in the end when the temporary rush and excitement subsides (as anything that goes up must come down) is there someone or something that makes you feel at home and at peace and fill you up with happiness. That someone who would be there no matter what ever happens outside the HOME. That someone special who would make me want to return home and look forward to returning HOME. That special love and tenderness with which she could make me feel special and loved......
And with time the seeds and fruits of our love (kids) and their life..... A loving family!
Called up home again to mom tell me about the new year horoscope stuff, about things clearing up for me getting married. About time.
Was chatting on FB with Geetha chechi and relying info between them. hehehe modern tech. One in Arabia, me in US and mom in Kerala... cheers
Got call from Narayan, so tempted to go to Jersey again to the temple. tried renting and was told that the car is not available for economy. Then called up after 2 hrs and got an intermediate size car. Well got to go with it, and satisfy the urge to travel and pray.
Chatted with Lubo, he is a good man and good person at heart. Only wish that others close to him could have got some of the goodness from him.
Went and got the car around 1pm. 2pm head to office to get the receipts for the Visa expenses scanned and sent to the mail id. Called up narayan and told him i am starting off around 3.. its already 3:20 as i was not able to find the map.. well heading out for the Temple ,, hanuman darshan. more this time as per the suggestions of my mom.
cheers and off to NJ after that.
Reached temple around 5pm, then after been there for an hr, went to the cafeteria and had their famous Veggie Biriyai. packed a few tamrind rice and onion bajji(pakoras/pakodas).
Reached Narayans house around 7:30, latter go out in Narayans new Honda CRV. wow loved the new model with its sleek features.....
Returned back to his house and got watching Hindi TV channels. It felt a bit heart warming to watch TV from back home, thou it felt a bit sub-standard. And it was me watching TV after a very long time. Also got to see the movie "Dil Chahata hai", felt like I was living the life of the character Sameer.. :((( always having my heart broken.

Call Center Demo
Woke up early and went about the now routine of light work out and yoga. Feels good and fills me up with energy. Did not drink coffee of Tea either.
Today will be going to for the call center demo.
But before that there was this tressure hunt that is been organized by CTSH and there was an early bird prize. So there was a competition with in the room to be able to send out the mail as soon as the registration started.,,,, we ended up as 5th.. awwww
10:30 to 12 Got a demo from Anish Thomas, who used be into supporting Siebel. Moved into the call center for a more even-time job.
He was informative and seemed to know a great lot to talk with the doctors. The call that came thru was one related to surevey. They were using MOC for the doc to initiate the call online and then after anish confirmed about the Docs credentials , started off with the other process. Then again after the end of the call approx 16 mins , he went to Siebel to enter the details of the call.
Around 12:05 called up Katie of Fry Wagner regarding the details of the move. but she did not pick up , left a msg.
12:40 off for lunch
Got to Katie after a series of non-stop phone calls and having her paged by her receptionist.
Said will have her agents in Van get in touch with me regarding the documentation for the move.
Had a last min meeting regarding leave and stuff. Might get to go to India during jul aug got to work out the logistics based on the requirement..... have to see when I can return back to india on long term.
Things are slowly moving and one hurdle after another seems to be clearing off. Feeling more relieved and less dis-oriented with the new place. Home sweet home feels a great place to come back too, glad i took up this place.

VISHU (real day)
WISHING EVERY LIVING CREATURE A HAPPY VISHU (Malayalam new year).
And may the world be filled with Happiness and Good positive feelings.
Opps thought that Vishu was yesterday. But looks like its today. So what, I get to celebrate it for two days. :)
Called up home and talked to them all..... 3:45 pm
Talked with Adhira, Kanka aechi ,,,,, Looks like everyone was there at my house to party and surprisingly they all had some kind of alcohol. woooo that is a new development considering my dad never was into any of these things.
Even Ganga aetan turned up from mumbai there to celebrate. cheers to family and celebrations.
After a physically demanding walk with the weight of two LTs on my back pack for about 30 mins. Went in directly to the War Room and got testing on the changes made to fix the buy.
Went perfectly well with DTC (English speaking and spanish) and then the NSC call centers too.
Was about to send george a mail about the tests, when I got a mail from him to do the tests.
Right on time!
Then had to go out of the room as Joe was trying to have a meeting there.
Started setting up the installation of Tools and Client on my machine. only finished around 5:30pm
12:30pm Brought lunch from the cafeteria and had it at my new desk. Then around 1pm headed out for the Kick off meeting for the project that I have been brought here for. Saw a bunch of new faces that I will be interacting with the next few months. So far I may be guaranteed work upto Nov-2010.
Not sure after that what.
4 to 5 was CTSH meeting got introduced to another bunch of new faces and got to see ajit heading his team. Good work.
Got a mail from Katie regarding the movers. Got to coordinate with her about the logistics of moving all my stuff and the car. At last after 17 days.
5:30 was the walk back, not so tiring as I was walking at a lisurely phase.
might as well got out for a walk and check out the neighbor hood.
And may the world be filled with Happiness and Good positive feelings.

VISHU...... NEW YEAR, NEW DAY of NEW MOON. Time for new beginnings and new phase of life.
A time for forgetting and forgiving and moving ahead as friends and wishing every living creature the best of lifes sweetness and happiness.
A time to let go off old baggage , resentment, bad feelings and negativity. Move ahead into the new phase. Thus symbolizing the true essence of New Year and new Beginnings.
Got to work on the Shuttle service. Took more that 30 mins as it went to all the other locations of the company. Rather prefer walking on a good day that the shuttle.
At work, was lost in the maze of emails to HR and Ajit to help with the time sheet. As there did not seem to be provision for entering the time for Mar 30 and Mar 31.
Frustrating with people not knowing how to fix the screw up.
The good thing was towards the end of the day, I was allocated a Desk with a phone. Cheers to that. Now I have my own office phone with voice set up.
Walked back with Sudendo and Rajshekar. As they live close by the office. I had to walk another 20 mins with the load of 2 lap tops on my back.
Almost 7pm and its really bright outside. maybe I need to go for a run again today. :)
and need to start working on finishing the Cad Taxes. been putting it off for too long.
Ended up doing some light work out in the empty main hall and some yoga stretching. Is this how life is when one does not have TV? I am tempted to continue this way. ;) And will be saving a bundle on Cable connection too.

Fire Fighting day

Okay, wake up early 5:30am , do some yoga and light work out. its becoming a good routine.
Today I have to walk for 30 mins with two lap tops on my back to work. no more the luxury of a car. And get busy with the fire fighting of some issue that got reported yesterday....
off to work 7:30am EST
started off from home around 7:45 got to work around 8:15 carrying two laptops . On the way took out the trash from yesterday nights cooking. Was not able to find any closer to my house, ended up carrying that half way to work and dropping it off in the trash bin at penbrook.
George comes in around 9:15 and shows me how the defect was caused. Then sets me up with access to the Dev boxes and tools for me to start my analysis. Start with the prep work of documenting the code. Downloaded text pad for easier reading of code.
Do a couple of tests on DTC for English and spanish speaking and the problem seems to be there in both. So tell george about it and he tries it in NSC and Viola! there is problem even there. So he realises that its got to do with some code he put in. Goes into Service request tools and delets it.
Next compilation of code was supposed to be by 2 pm and we could test it, latter got to know that it will only be ready tomorrow. :(
So around 12 try to get a ride to the Orientation center, but no one seems to be free. So decide to walk. Get out of the office to find it rainning.. aaahh Another 30 mins walk in the rain to the center for taking my pic and got my Id. Then walk back to the office in the rain, reached back by 1pm. Was feeling hungry by then, get food from the cafetria... hope I don't end up paying for it again and rather have my sweet home cooked food.
Talked with narayan on the walk back to office and got to know that he just brought a new black Honda CRV for about $28k. Cheers, maybe we will meet again this week end at the temple.
Filled up the Medical and other benefit from online for CTSH.
Guess I am feeling tired and sleepy, did not have coffee or is it cause of waking up early. Need to start meditating at the new house.
I have to try to take the shuttle from work. lets see where it starts and stops. just got the details of their schedule.
And maybe go for a run around.
This place feels so peaceful away from the city, with laid back people. Freshness of the air and lots of green around. Early morning when I woke up could hear the birds singing in their soothing way. Thou it sounds like its close to NY when one reads that its just 2 hrs drive, not many unerstand that its a place to visit as a tourist, not a place where one can make frequent visits.
Guess I am really ready to retire in a peaceful place and not much into the hectic City life any more..... well do miss the energy I like to feel from the crowded environment. And this place seems to have places to go visit . There is also a national park close by. Just saw a advertisement for a 1 BR condo, just about 100 k. maybe I should plan on buying one instead of paying $1250 per month as rent it could go towards my mortgage. hmmmm
Had gone for a run around 8pm, listening to Merengue on my new iPhone, thats why I was feeling tired.
But good healthy start to life here. Without TV and just me and my lap top and my phone.

Vishu Week

Vishu (malayalam new year) is this week, They have already started partying at home. missing them all.
Wake up to the alarm. Big house with no furniture, just a couple of suitcases, sleeping bag and two lap tops..
Had to shower with out a shower curtain. That was a good experiment.
No TV to let me know the latest situation around the world. But iPhone seems to be great with access to emails on the phone. :)
Ready to get cracking, last few hrs with the car.
Got a mail from Indian HR asking for university documents to be sent to Indian fax number.. yea right I am a guy here with free access to international fax. Said sorry not possible and he got back saying ok can fax to US number....
off to office.
Got working on setting up the office communicator (the chat system to chat with in the office). Then went home to get the documents to fax, had lunch with rice and yogurt and mango pickle. Then found a scanner system that also sends out the scanned doc in an email . So sent out the docs related to background check.
Got out of the office early to return the car, went to Costco for last minute shopping. Just about return back in time to return the car to Enterprise. Get a ride back or drop off from the marketing guy Erik back to station sq.
about 7:20 now and the sky is still bright. go out for a walk and check out my posh neighborhood.
Returned back, was talking with AV, now we can talk unlimited as we are in the same country.
Started cooking chicken curry, with the minimum ingredients, well for a hungry guy like me who has been eating outside the past one month, it was like nirvana. Yummmyy nothing beats home cooked food.
Finished cooking and cleaning about 11 and just dropped off to sleep. Have a busy day tomorrow.. Fire fighting to solve a new issues with CTI

Move to new Apt
6:45 wake up after a intermittent sleep. excited and uncertain about moving to new place.
Hoping not to forget anything.
Looks like the hotel slipped in thru the door the invoice of my stay here. Given the fact that I got $20 off the original price per day, looks like a great deal. :)
Best Western - aka - The Inn at Towamencin, my home for the past 14 days.
Long day of shopping and stocking ahead.
11:10 check out of hotel.
go to the Leasing office and give the lady the pending balance and get a receipt. She gives me the keys and I go to the apt. drop the 1st load of luggage and end up locking myself out...ahhh what
a great start hehehe...
The drive back to the leasing office and get the spare keys. move in more of my luggage and then head off shopping. 1 Stop Wal mart. About $118 worth of stuff buy the basic stuff from there and then go to PATEL Grocerries, buy the masalsas, pickels, rotis, and other food items $61
Then head Costco to get some hot dogs in first...that is my breakfast / lunch around 3:30pm. Start shopping for dishes, Milk , tissues , cleaning and bath. food,,, total $368... one after noon of shopping and I am down by $600... Phew!
End up meeting Kannan Rajan at costco, who is there shopping with his wife. Guess I will be running into someone from work in this small village. :)
5:10 start with boiling two glasses of milk in the new cooker. but it takes long to boil.
Call up Balaji to ask about the milk boiling call seems to go to his voice directly.
then call up anil and his wife who are driving back to dallas from his in-laws house in houston about the milk boiling . Then his wife tells to boil it in a smaller container and let the milk spill over on to the stove. I was kind of apprehensive about the new kitchen getting dirty the very first day.... "A messy kitchen means a Happy Family" is the quote she shoots .
5:45 finish boiling milk for the second time in the smaller container.
Here starts my life with out TV and no internet connection. Maybe I will see how long I can live with out the two at home. For emergency I am able to get one unsecured connection. using that to blog now... time about 6:10pm need to get the rest of the stuff from the car....
put my cloths in the washer and
7pm Walk towards work place to see how long it would take. Took me 30 mins to get to work and 30 mins to get back.. 1 hrs walking on the empty street kind of felt good with some physical activity other than carrying loads and just driving.....
returned back and put the cloths in the dryer... cheers

Then head Costco to get some hot dogs in first...that is my breakfast / lunch around 3:30pm. Start shopping for dishes, Milk , tissues , cleaning and bath. food,,, total $368... one after noon of shopping and I am down by $600... Phew!
End up meeting Kannan Rajan at costco, who is there shopping with his wife. Guess I will be running into someone from work in this small village. :)
5:10 start with boiling two glasses of milk in the new cooker. but it takes long to boil.
Call up Balaji to ask about the milk boiling call seems to go to his voice directly.
then call up anil and his wife who are driving back to dallas from his in-laws house in houston about the milk boiling . Then his wife tells to boil it in a smaller container and let the milk spill over on to the stove. I was kind of apprehensive about the new kitchen getting dirty the very first day.... "A messy kitchen means a Happy Family" is the quote she shoots .
5:45 finish boiling milk for the second time in the smaller container.
Here starts my life with out TV and no internet connection. Maybe I will see how long I can live with out the two at home. For emergency I am able to get one unsecured connection. using that to blog now... time about 6:10pm need to get the rest of the stuff from the car....
put my cloths in the washer and
7pm Walk towards work place to see how long it would take. Took me 30 mins to get to work and 30 mins to get back.. 1 hrs walking on the empty street kind of felt good with some physical activity other than carrying loads and just driving.....
returned back and put the cloths in the dryer... cheers

First and foremost had to go and withdraw money from TD bank so that I have the balance to pay before moving into the new house. Then headed out on a whim towards the Indian restaurant. Had an overdose of food and ice cream. ;)
Returned back and filled up the US taxes. did not claim the losses of previous years. so it was easy. Maybe at the end of this year I get to claim.
Atlast filed the taxes online and got accepted.
4:43 called up Michele grims of comcast as I had 3 msgs from her in the Van phone from yesterday and did not get to it like today morning.
Got mail from Joyce about the places to go for salsa dancing during the week in Philly. that was very nice of her to compliment me about my dancing too. ;)
Evening went out for Salsa in the suburbs. Felt like a salsa snob in the middle of all the beginner level ladies. One old lady was even trying to teach me the right way to spin a partner. woooo what a turn off.
Great floor, good music combination, but no one good enough to dance with. Looked like a regular group of people who knew each other.
Started packing up all my stuff to be ready for the move. only scared of not having internet connection. have to do with iPhone for mail checking (well that came in handy).

iphone expected at Ajits house by 4:30pm, got to see if I can apply for CTSH phones, as they have free Phones for Managers. Its still not got into my head that I am a Manager.
Got to focus on finishing the Taxes. as after this week my access to internet might be limited to work as I am moving to the New House. :)
So its a MUST DO today
Just went thru the US tax docs and realised that it was not as complicate for 2009 as I had initially thought. Phew what a relief to know that my fears were more related to the past years experience.
It was nice to Banter with Dr Anjali in the morning. She sure knows to lighten up my day.
need to keep an eye on the market today.... crucial.. :)
REached Merck around 8:30am not able to find parkingafter driving around. So parked in the visitors parking. then the security guy from yesterdays remembered me and told me not to. So drove to gate 9 and had to park there. ahh by the time I entered office 9am... from next week it will be just me walking (hiking) every day to work for 2 miles. :)) hope to enjoy it.
CAlled upt CTSH GSD for resetting the password and got access to most of my CTSH related mails and other website to help me with the move and transition to the new company.
Talked with Joannae M, regarding the Payroll and my salary check. She was very sweet and encouraging and had a nice way of calming me down and making me feel good. Sweet.
4:40pm called up
*->PECO for Electricity. 1800-494-4000 8am to 5pm.
And they were not able to find the house in their system. Called up station Sq. was adviced to conf.
Called up peco again with conf and they were able to set up the transfer.
6:00 droped Ajit off at his house and got my new iPhone that was sent to his address.
8:45 headed out for salsa, got lost , but got back on track with the help of the GPS on the iPhone.
met joyce from NJ who kept asking me to dance. Sweet and the best compliment about my lead from a super sexy gal from Maryland. "I could feel you" . Returned back to Best Western with out much trouble again with a bit of help from the iPhone.

Day of Company Orientation
Apr-08-2010 Thrusday
Wake up early as I have two Orientations, one with the Client at 6:00am and the the next at 12 with CTSH. Rush rush rush...... Hope to survive all the hectic movement....
Had to go thru harassment of a lady, who wanted to know where I am from before registering me for the Drug and alcohol test @ MERCK. I said, canada! and she was like where are you from. Well I just gave you my Canadian passport as proof of identity! (where else do you think I am from? was something I should have asked,,, but circumstance does not permit)
And in the orientation, they said its considered harassment if someone is making an exception based on the group I belong to.
Got msg from Ajit saying that my IS id is finally ready so I should get my MERCK laptop and access to other features.
Cheers thats one more hurdle down. :)
Still seem to have issues with hireright wanting more documentation from me.
9:45 hope to pick up Ajit on way back to work.
@12 not to forget the Group Orientation by CTSH...
Radhika the person conduting the orientation turns up late and gives us a lame excuse that there is poor turn out. when in fact I logged in about 15 mins before the meeting and Juhi and Vishal were there on time. Anyways got talking with them Juhi basically from mumbai based in Irving California and Vishal from karnataka and Mumbai based in Atlanta (ex-infosys).
Vishal did not get his Associate id either... and had the movers move his stuff even before he got his associate id.
So contacted Amit and he sent out a mail to the relocation team with CC to me.
Thou Amit said he got my associate id, he did not send it to me even after I sent him a reminder mail after the call.....
Called up Eliazbeth Navarro regarding hireright , left a voice msg. will call back 1:30
called her back again and then followed up with email.
Then followed a series of emails, I guess Amit realizing that he really does not have my ID and then started sending out mails, adding more people in the loop.
I decided to call up Justin and he said he is going to create it in a few hrs time and I should get it from Amit soon.
Called up Joanna and was told nothing can be done with out the Id.....
yet to have my break fast and lunch,, its about 3pm ... been running around since 5 am. feel like falling asleep.

Early morning rush

IT was a early morning rush to get the Canadian background check documents signed by Ajit as witness and fax it. This it seems was one of the reasons why the processing of my my emp details in CTSH was delayed. All because Amit did not let me know.
It was nice to see Delmas message on FB. Especially after the heart to heart chat we had. She is as I felt a very honest and sincere gal. And naturally very beautiful with a heart warming smile. Wish there were more gals like her.
Back to hotel to send the FAX, utilizing the facilities to the Max possible.
Today need to work on the taxes..... ahhhh been putting it off, no more. have to do it
Around 12:30 Bach sets me up with internet connection.. yeaa now I have access to the net from work
around 3 pm the ar room was been used by another team so I get booted out. But was able to solve on issue that was happening in the Test 4 envi.
Major accomplishment, given the fact that I am still waiting for my id and official lap top to start my work in the company. :)
Then a bit of a set back with the lady from hireright who is doing my background check sends me a mail saying that police rejected my copies of passport and drivers licesce as the pics were too dark.
Then had one of the guys Mohan from Pune help me out with scanning the Passport and Drivers license. Sent it to her ..,, remains to be seen if it goes thru.
It feels good to have skype at work now with the internet connection.

Hectic day and CTSH orientation

was supposed to be at the gate by 8:30 but only made it at 8:40 and had to wait for ajit to come and get me in.
Called up home and talked to parents.
Met up with Joe Farrara who gave me a brief about NBG and NFC call center. Then latter went to the NBG call center and joe said he was going to arrange a walk thru for me. Was surprised to see the lavish set up of seperate rooms for each call center agent.
Since I had a CTSH new comers orientation program returned back to the hotel and connected using skype and Centra @ 12. After 3 hrs of some great presentation and questions.
Was then trying to get my Emp id moving. Got call from Vinod about needing to complete background check profile on the net.
Called up Ajit to tell him that I would be stay put in the hotel. got busy sending out fax to Debra about new address. Then sent out fax of Canadian pp and drivers license to hireright. ahhhhhh around 6 got a mail to send across papers with hiring managers signature.
Went out in the evening checking out the apartment I would move into. Then went to costco and got the special granola. Went to check out the Indian grocerry, owned and operated by Gujju family :)... got some snacks and Drove out to Walmart to check out the place and a sleeping bag. got lost when getting back , but returned back to hotel in one piece...
Called up Ajit and left a message. hoping to send the Documents via fax immediately..
Exhausted by all the running around. Wish I could go out and dance with someone special...

New Day, New week feeling new
woke up early, did a good trade on rimm.
Slowly but steadily getting back into market.
got to work around 9:30 had to page Ajit as my IS id is not ready, only he could escort me into the office. He said we have a meeting with Joe and George @ 10:30. So get back to the meeting room only to move it to the "war room".
Joe and Ajit left after 11:30 for another meeting. Gerorge remained there to log me on to the other systems.
After lunch, I got booted out of the war room as it was booked for some kind of training. only got it back after 4:15pm
Waiting on Emp Id from CTSH too. only then will I be able to continue with the rest of the relocation porcess and the pay role related stuff.
Feeling a bit relieved that I am not wasting my time and energy thinking about Apartment. Thats a lot of relief. Thank you very much god.

Signing Lease

get up around 6am and end up chatting with Narayan about our life and its latest happenings.
10:10 leave narayans house head to the Temple again. They have the Ganapathi bathing ritual. Stay there again and mediate for sometime and don't feel like leaving.
Start off from the temple after ordering a take out of Idlly, vada and onion Pakoda.
1:42 was reaching Station Sq to sign up when I get a call from the lady. Anyway end up there and sign give her the employment letter from Cognizant and give her application.
End up getting $100 lesser than thought as she wavied the Amenities fee and gives me the rent that we talked about on the first visit. 1150 and two month free for 14 month lease. So it turned out to be just about 1200 more per year or $100/month compared to the older apt. (the older apt is available only from may 1st and that means 3 weeks of Hotel stay and car rental amounting to about $1800).

Temple Darshan, Empowering feeling

11:00am set out for NJ
11:20 see a TD bank so stop by to check and end up opening an account. Applied for
Credit card too.
Drive to Costco and get a cooking set for Narayan and his wife.
1:00pm started off for the Venkateshwara Temple in Bridgewater. Was a turning out to be pleasant drive. Then suddenly I realised that the landscape and traffic was feeling more like the downtown of a city and a Rough Neighborhood . Saw SEPTA station (commuter train in Philadelphia). And I was supposed to reach the temple in one hour and it was 1:30 hrs of driving already.
Panic stuck I turned around called up Narayan and he confirmed that the road I ended up on 611 south was taking me to Philly downtown. Atlast get back to the route and reached the temple around 4:30.
Enter the temple and was suddenly stuck with some kind of empowering feeling as soon as I saw the vigraha of Venkateshwara. Ended up been there and mediating for about an hour. Then go down and have a Vada and veggie Birayani.
6pm head towards Narayans house and meet Satish, his wife and daughter there from Kasargod. Then latter Roshan (mumbai-malu) and his wife from calicut turn up at the door and we end up talking for a few hours.
Its surprising that I meet two Northern Malus in the same evening.
North Kerala is calling out to me in subtle ways. :)

Right now, any bit of kindness and thoughtfulness towards me seems to make me think of the person as exceptional. After been the one who was going out of his way and not been appreciated for my efforts. It really feels very touching even when people consider me for little things and try to include me and try to make me part of their life.
Well one has to feel the bottom to be able to appreciate any upward drift.

Drive to Costco and get a cooking set for Narayan and his wife.
1:00pm started off for the Venkateshwara Temple in Bridgewater. Was a turning out to be pleasant drive. Then suddenly I realised that the landscape and traffic was feeling more like the downtown of a city and a Rough Neighborhood . Saw SEPTA station (commuter train in Philadelphia). And I was supposed to reach the temple in one hour and it was 1:30 hrs of driving already.
Panic stuck I turned around called up Narayan and he confirmed that the road I ended up on 611 south was taking me to Philly downtown. Atlast get back to the route and reached the temple around 4:30.
Enter the temple and was suddenly stuck with some kind of empowering feeling as soon as I saw the vigraha of Venkateshwara. Ended up been there and mediating for about an hour. Then go down and have a Vada and veggie Birayani.
6pm head towards Narayans house and meet Satish, his wife and daughter there from Kasargod. Then latter Roshan (mumbai-malu) and his wife from calicut turn up at the door and we end up talking for a few hours.
Its surprising that I meet two Northern Malus in the same evening.
North Kerala is calling out to me in subtle ways. :)

Fixing in UAT again
9:00am reached reception. got txt frm ajit saying that mtg with George moved to 9:30am
Sit it out in the car. Enter around 9:20 and the security lady lets me in without escort. So get into the room and call up ajit and let him know.
9:45 he comes by and we go to meet George, nice guy who was one of the client team that interviewed me a few days ago. Then he takes me the high security War room ment for the CTI (computer Telephony Integration). The door has its own unique security code to enter and I am the only guy in Cognizant give that. hmmm niceeee.
Thou I have not got my Id card and Laptop, he gets me in so that I could help him fix some broken functions in the current Environment. They are going live with enhancements in May and hence are in UAT phase too. Ahhh again another project in the UAT phase. oh no ! it looks like UAT karma is catching up with me.
Well there starts my CTI at Merck.
George starts by telling me the details of the project and the history behind some of the happenings.
We get to the 2 issues that he has as priority.
the first one, related to spanish language, I felt we needed more info about data from the middle ware known only thru their logs, which we might only be able to get to on monday.
2nd related to internal calls ending up getting pop ups.
We go about trying to increase the log levels.
then around 12:45 head for lunch. George wanted to go to his desk and eat there while working, I decided to stay put in the cafetria. George comes back saying that he is sorry for been rude and joins me. wow! so its not a western or white folk thing when people decide to go away on their own. Its a individual personalty thing.
After going thru the months of torture of trying to figure out, what the issue was in my relationship. And why I am feeling so sensitive to certain behavior, i realize, its really not me. Different people Different attitude! Some are team oriented, some are very individualistic, which to sensitive team players like me would mean too selfish and self centered attitude. But then again its my own built up of expectations about someone special in my life.
Anyways after lunch we went back to trying to understand the problem, george heads off to a series of meetings he has after giving me access with his id.
After doing a few tests, I come up with a temp solution to remedy the symptom, THOU YET TO DEFINE THE PROBLEM and find the right solution

5:00 head to Station Sq and check on the apartment again and to confirm about the heat and other charges....
The new lady there tells me that the apt is no longer available for 1150 and its now 1195 and the heat and electricity comes to about $150 / month. So now the price has gone up by $200.
Meaning that I end up paying about $4000 to $5000 more per year compared to the Older apartment -> Penbrook Apts.
The go to Prembrook and try asking if the apt could be ready sooner. Looks like the people who are staying are vacating in on May 8th and the management do not know the condition of the place. Hence the issue of promising the date.
6:00pm Reach Bank of america on VanForge street after the one on Forty feet rd seemed to be have closed down for good. not really impressed.

With a sense of anticipation and not knowing how deep the well is I jump in...
10:15 reached Merck gate 39 - reception room 1076
got call from Ajit saying its spilling over to 10:45am. So go and sit it off in the Car and meditate... seems to calm me and help me focus more.
11am Ajit comes to the reception and takes me in, Shows me around the maze of buildings. There seems to be about 100 buildings all connected and about 10 Entry points into parking... wow.
12:10 meeting with Sangeeta the Merck Project MGR who gives me a brief about the project.
Got info about their various business groups
Our project is Model D project. => Corner stone ==> US Customer Connect (USCC).

Remember a few names.. let me see ..Rajshekar (Andhra Pradesh) and Rajan ( Tamil from Karnataka) helps me with info about accommodation, Bacho (Andhra Pradesh), Krish (chennai). Sudendo(bengal seems to be the newest here) staying @ penbrook Mohan (maharastra), Dharmesh (mumbai) another guy who is busy talking on the phone from Karnataka.
4:45 plan on going and visiting Narayan Reddy in NJ after visiting Temple in Bridge water, on Saturday. So talk to him the logistics of it.
5:pm Ajit helped fill out the I-9 form. very much needed for Homeland security with in 3 days of joining the company...
Drop ajit off at his house and he invites me for Tea. End up talking to him about
stocks and and playing the market. meet his family A boy and a cute 2 yr old babe girl.
Happy family, Came to US when I was in Indianapolis, he was project Manager there for the Congnizant team. I moved to Vancouver after that. Been with the same company he has his own house. .....
